English Lead Pastor

Chinese Alliance Christian Church (CACC) is located at 60 Ben Lomond Crescent, Pakuranga Heights, Auckland and is a part of the Alliance Churches of New Zealand. The church was established in 1991 as a gathering of families from Hong Kong. Since then, we have grown into a cross-cultural community of more than 200 first- to third-generation Kiwi-Asians speaking primarily English and Cantonese.
Role Purpose
The English Lead Pastor will have two core responsibilities: pastoring the English ministry, and providing overall leadership to the whole church, including our Children, Youth and Cantonese ministries. He or she will inspire, equip and lead us towards fulfilling our church vision: becoming a Christ-centred, missional, intergenerational and cross-cultural church family.

Essential
- A vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to make Him known
- Strong servant leadership in a cross-cultural environment
- A heart for disciple-making and spiritual growth
- Able to cultivate people’s spiritual giftings, equipping and releasing them to lead in their ministry areas
- Trained in a Bible seminary
- Fluent in English
- Agree with the Alliance Churches of NZ Statement of Faith
Desirable
- A sound understanding of and commitment to Alliance tradition and thought
- Ordained by the Alliance or other evangelical denomination
- A passion for Chinese and Asian culture would be a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and reviewing a strategic plan for the church
- Working with leaders from both Kiwi-Asian and Hong Kong backgrounds to carry out our church’s vision
- Being the primary shepherd for the English ministry from a day-to-day perspective
- Overseeing and coaching lay leaders and pastoral staff
- A commitment to and participation in the wider Alliance family, its policies and practices
